About me…Here I want to tell you something about me, about Daisy Goshlyn. But what to tell I’m wondering? I’m not a nail polish artist, not a stylist, not a famous person from which you want to now just eeeeevrything about. So what to write? I’m just gonna tell you who I’m. I’m Daisy Goshlyn, a regular 30 year old young woman, with a regular job, a wonderful and very interesting life, with an amazing lovely boyfriend, friends and all the ups and downs life has available for every one of us. But why this blog makes you think? Hold on… I will tell!


Besides all the things in life, I guess I have one thing a lot of woman wants to have. Somehow I always manage to keep my nails long, strong and beautiful. At least already for 10 years! An during all those years, I got so many compliments about my nails and a lot of questions too. Question’s like,‘are those nails of yours natural nails?’ and ‘how do you keep your nails that beautifully long and strong?’. And I get also a many many many other question. For example, ‘which nail file should I use?’, ‘which brand of nail polish should I buy?’, ‘do I need top coat?’, ‘how should I take care of my nails?’ and even more questions. And because I tested already so many brands, top coats, base coats, colours, nail files and so on, I thought I will share it on a blog. So that makes it possible for everybody who’s interested to read and for me it’s the wonderful opportunity to share!

Base coat.

Do you need a base coat? Yes you need one! Cause if you use a good base coat, your nail polish will simply last longer. When you start polishing your nails, first apply a base coat. A base coat doesn’t have to be expensive. Just use a cheap one. A base coat dries very quickly, so you can start applying your nail polish pretty quickly. But make sure the base coat is totally dry before you start!

The base coat does not only keep your nail polish last longer it also keeps your nails clean. Cause the very deep and bright colours, like red, green, yellow or orange will be absorbed by your nails. And you will walk around with discolored nails a couple of days after cleaning. So take care of that and keep your nails safe from discoloring! And give your nail polish a good and strong base by using a base coat!

CATRICE Review 800 Heavy Metallilac.

Colour.
This colour is just wonderful! It’s not that dark as most purple polishes are and not an almost pink colored purple. The metallic look is also there and looks really amazing. A great, bright very beautiful colour. Wear it and you will get a lot of positive reactions about the beautiful nail polish you’re wearing!

Brush.

The brush is the only negative thing about this polish. But, it can be worse. Catrice Cosmetics choose a broad brush. This makes it more difficult to polish neatly. But that takes a little bit of practice and the colour is absolutely worth it! Just take your time to polish properly.

Speed.

Somehow the nail polish from Catrice Cosmetics dry quit quick. So, this one also! And the colours end up just beautiful.

Bottle promises.

The bottle promised ultimate colour, ultimate gloss and ultimate coverage. And this is true! The colour is great! The gloss is good also, but use a topcoat to protect your nail polish! As this is a metallic look colour, a mat topcoat would do just great too! The coverage is just perfect. With two layers you have exactly the colour you wish for and it covers absolutely fine! This nail polish will hold for a couple of days and maybe a week! Use a basecoat, a topcoat and this nail polish gives you wonderful nails!

Price.

You can buy this nail polish for only 2,49 euro!!! Who can complain about that?!

Overall conclusion.

I’m a huge fan! Great, long lasting, good coverage colour! Amazingly cheap nail polish, so affordable for everybody I guess! I really love this one! Definitely worth it to try! A real MUSTHAVE!!!

How to get natural strong beautiful nails?

Every woman wants them! Strong, long, clean and neat looking nails. Which will survive your daily job, gardening, cleaning and whichever other task that make your nails fragile. So how to achieve this, without going to a nail artist or any other expensive way?

It’s simple, you have to take care of them! Just like you take care of your beautiful hair, or your good looking skin. But no worries, it won’t take that much time! And I have to say, maybe I'm a bit lucky and maybe I'm just blessed with strong nails. However, if I don't take care of my nails, they will not get strong and mine will break to.

So, a lot of people ask me how I get my nails that naturally long, strong and good looking. Actually it’s very simple. Get a nail file and take every day a couple of minute’s time to gently grind down and shaping the sharp or damaged edges. If you follow this routine, it’s a task of two minutes. You can even do it on the toilet! Just take every day 1 or 2 minutes to take care of your nails! And once a week you take really good time to shape them properly and shorten them a little bit. This way you keep your nails strong! And because you take care of all de fragile and damaged edges every day, your nails will be saved from getting weak and breaking quick.

I’m serious!  If you do this every day, even if it’s really quick, your nails get really strong and they will survive your daily job, cleaning and even gardening. So lets go for strong beautiful nails an have fun with all the wonderful nailpolish colors! Cause they are all waiting for you!

GOSH Review 031 Lemon’n Lime (special edition Oh my GOSH’).

Colour. This is a (GOSH) fresh and bright color, but to reach this you need at least need 3 layers of nailpolish. Or two, extremely thick, layers. Which makes the polishing a tedious chore. Cause this polish doesn’t dry quickly. The color is really cool, but I’m not excited about the way this nailpolish covers. To bad!

Brush.

I’m not enthusiastic about the brush either, even if it is a small brush.  The brush is small (which normally makes it easier to polish), but quit long and somehow this doesn’t work smoothly. Maybe it also has to do with the way the top of the bottle is shaped. It doesn’t give you a good hold. Altogether, this brush makes it difficult to brush your nails properly and neat.

Speed.

Another thing, this nailpolish doesn’t dry quickly at all. So, the bad coverage will make you want to apply two or three layers of nailpolish and then it takes much time to let everything dry. Not handy at all.

Bottle promises.

No promises on the bottle,  so that’s an easy, or a smart, one!

Price.

The price of this nailpolish is €3,99. Whih is not that bad, but the quality is not really either.

Overall conclusion.

A nailpolish with a great color and good price. However the price is good and the color looks all fresh and bright, the coverage is just badly. So that’s not handy at all. You have to apply 2 or 3 layers of nailpolish, with a very unhandy brush, and then you need a lot of time to let it dry properly. I wouldn’t purchase another color of this edition again. Cause besides all this, the polish doesn’t stay that long on your nails. After one day of work, it chips of a lot and you really need to clean your nails.

Please clean your nails!

My nails are all fresh, clean and neat again. This makes them ready for a next great colour or a beautiful natural look!

Before you apply a new color and especially before applying a transparent nailpolish, always make sure your nails are clean! Cause a clean base is what you need if you like to polish your nails properly, shiny and with a good coverage. Besides that, it looks just very ugly if you can see bits and pieces of your old colour through your new colour. It simply gives your nails a dirty look and that’s not what you want!

First of all, get rid of your old nailpolish by using a nailpolish remover. From whichever brand you want! Don’t spend money on an expensive one! It’s simply not necessary.

After that a good nail file will help you to get rid of the last dirty bits and pieces under your nails. And of course with the nail file you can gently shape the edges quickly.

When I’m satisfied with my cleaned nails, I always do an extra, I use a nail brush. Cause I really like very neat nails! Maybe I’m to freaky on this ;-) but at least my nails always looking clean and neat. Besides that, they didn’t invent nail brushes for nothing… I always keep it simple, because I believe that the simplest things have the best effects. And we are not trying to fly to heaven here, but we just want to have proper clean and neat nails. So I use a nail brush and a nice smelling shower gel or soap to rinse off all the last bits and pieces. And that’s the finishing touch which makes my nails ready for a new experiment. And the good thing is, after using a shower gel to clean your nails, your nails are not that dried out anymore. Because the nailpolish remover is pretty aggressive stuff for your nails and dries them out. And after the nail brush, shower gel treatment, the nails are back on the healthy track again and will also shine a little bit.

So, clean your nails and be shiny!

CATRICE Review 030 Meet Me At Coral Island.

Colour.
The number 030 ‘Meet Me At Coral Island’ colour of Catrice Cosmetics is a great, bright, flashy colour. It’s a beautiful colour for summer, beach, clubbing and long sunny evenings. The colour is also as bright and sharp as the bottle makes you believe.

Brush.

I’m not that enthusiastic about this brush. The brush is big and that makes it difficult to polish your nails neat.  A small brush would make you able to polish your nails properly.

Speed.

I was surprised by the speed this nailpolish did dry. Pretty quick, so that’s a big plus!

Bottle promises.

The bottle promises ultimate gloss, ultimate colour and ultimate coverage. I don’t believe in the ultimate gloss, which only sparkles on day one. Ultimate colour is absolutely true. And this nailpolish covers very good.

Price.

The price of this nailpolish is €2,99, which is just great! So I guess everybody is able to purchase it.

Overall conclusion.

Not a bad nailpolish at all! A great colour nailpolish with a very good coverage. An extra gloss will be necessary by a good topcoat. You can apply it when there is not that much time, cause the polish dries quickly. But after day two, you better remove the polish cause then it really chips off. Al this in combination with the price, makes this a wonderful nailpolish. Especially for summertime!

Do I need topcoat?

Should I use topcoat? Yes you should! Cause if you use topcoat your beautiful nailpolish simply last longer. And we love long lasting nailpolish! After a good base coat and two proper layers of nailpolish you can apply the topcoat. A finishing layer of topcoat will make your nails look shiny and protect your nailpolish to chip of quickly. Be aware that if you don’t like the shiny side of the topcoat, you can choose for a mat topcoat.

You can apply the topcoat when your nailpolish is completely dry. I wouldn’t recommend an expensive topcoat, cause there are many good quality topcoats available below €5,00. Most topcoats have a very shiny look and are dry very quickly.

Testing nailpolish. On what?

On what will I test the nailpolish will you probably think? Ok, I will let you know polish lovers! First of all on colour! Is the colour really that good as it looks like, or maybe even better? I will test it on quality. How long will the nailpolish last. Is the polish already messed up in one day, or will it last for a week? Does the polish chip of quickly? I will test the brush. Is the brush handy? Makes the brush it possible to polish your nails smoothly and properly? What is also handy to test is the speed of drying. Does it take forever to dry or is the magic done quickly? I will test if the nailpolish does what the bottle promises. Ultimate gloss, long lasting, dry in 60 seconds and so on. And last but not least… the price!

So, colour, quality, brush, speed, bottle promises and price it is! And with those categories I will put a review together for every great colour and brand.
